Workvivo is an Employee Engagement platform that was founded with the mission to “Promote a culture of peer-to-peer recognition”. It was estimated that 70% of employees were disengaged at work, costing $450bn annually, and as companies began adapting to remote and flexible working, keeping their teams informed and engaged was a topic on everyone’s agenda.
Following a Seed funding round in 2019 (including $ from Zoom CEO Eric Yuan), Tiger Global lead the Series A and Series B round (in 2020 and 2022), and set some ambitious growth targets. Workvivo started 2021 with 35 employees, needing to grow to over 100 within the year. In April 2023, they were acquired by communications platform Zoom.

First sales hires made in 5 weeks
Workvivo needed to hire the best talent to scale fast, and were committed to maintaining their culture. This was the height of the funding peak - one of the most competitive hiring landscapes in recent years. Despite their levels of success, Workvivo still wasn’t a widely recognised brand, so attracting talent on reputation alone wouldn’t work. They needed a brand ambassador to raise awareness within their ideal candidate pool.
When we were first introduced, the GtM leaders had a couple of talent partners engaged, but wanted to work with 1 exclusive agency that they were confident they could get the best talent from. Their initial pain was sales, expanding their Commercial and Enterprise teams across the UK and Ireland.
Workvivo made their first sales hire 5 weeks after briefing us on the ideal candidate, and was soon followed by a 2nd hire the next month. On those sales campaigns, we submitted 12 candidates, 10 were interviewed, and 2 were hired.
After our initial success we have expanded our remit, placed candidates across the UK/I and US, in sales, pre-sales, customer success, and operations roles. Workvivo had grown to 120 employees globally by the end of 2021, and are continuing their growth with Teem as their exclusive partners!
Of those eligible, nearly 80% of placements are still at Workvivo more than a year later.
