Founded in 2011, Udacity are a digital enterprise upskilling platform that solves the digital skills shortage in 5 pivotal areas: Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Autonomous Systems, and Cyber Security.
With the objective of keeping up momentum for enterprise customers, Udacity welcomed new C-level members to their team throughout 2019 and 2020. During this time, they celebrated 14 million users and 1.4 million completed projects.
They have received a total of $235m, backed by Google Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz, and have closed multiple million-dollar deals including the likes of AT&T, Shell, RBS, Turkcell, and Airbus.

Following a challenging but successful year in 2020, Udacity raised $75 million in funding. With hypergrowth on their minds, they aimed to help support that growth and scale their teams through a variety of roles.
In response to massive demand and growth on the enterprise and government side, Udacity needed to scale their teams quickly to keep up with that demand. The only problem being, they needed to hire as many A-players as possible from well-known MEDDIC-driven organisations to join an e-learning company. As their teams were largely male dominated, diversity was also a big priority.
Teem’s initial focus was to find as many A* candidates as possible with experience in closing million-dollar deals, as well as having experience selling to the biggest companies in the world.
Not only that, but we also needed to focus on finding MEDDIC A-players who would fit in and thrive in a unique culture.
Over the course of 13 months, Udacity hired 15 - four of which were over two days. The roles hired ranged from Senior AEs to SDR Managers, and VP to SDRs – a very Sales focused repertoire.
Teem successfully achieved a 3:1 first interview-to-hire ratio, so for every 3 people interviewed Udacity hired at least one candidate. Of the 15 hired, a total of 77% stayed longer than 12 months, and a few hires even received a promotion or two along the way.
