We started working with Looker following their $48m Series C in 2016 all the way through to their $2.6B acquisition by Google in 2019. What made Looker unique as they scaled was their commitment to an employee-centric culture. Our challenge was to get the right skills and experience, whilst keeping a real focus on the vibrant, entrepreneurial, yet relaxed approach that Looker valued.
“Great companies exhibit a personality. And I think that’s the part that scales, it’s who the people are, and who they share the vision with and bring on, is what makes a company great.” Frank Bien, CEO
Over multiple hiring campaigns, we earned recognition as their no.1 recruitment partner for EMEA, and continued to run hiring across Sales, Customer Success and Pre-Sales. The key to our success? Our immediate network of long-term contacts who were ready for a high-growth pre-IPO environment. Looker wanted to see a range of profiles so almost every software salesperson we introduced was interviewed, and the majority progressed further along the process.
Roughly 90% of placements stayed at Looker for at least 18 months, with many still there following their Google acquisition.
